Litepanels Make "Weeds" Sparkle
"We always use Litepanels on Weeds to put that glint in actress Mary-Louise Parker's eyes," says cinematographer Michael Trim.
"When we're on the Steadicam, the Litepanels MiniPlus travels on the rig with us, battery powered—a great feature! I'm also a fan of the easy to use diffusion and gel sheets and I use them quite often.
"Not too long ago we had a scene in Mary-Louise Parker's bedroom. A night shot, with only a few candles. All I needed was the Litepanels to get a few reflections in the dark wooden furniture in the background.
"I love how directional the Litepanels are," he adds. "There's not a lot of light spilling all over the place. It just goes where you want it to go.
"My gaffer, Jeff Butters and I rely on Litepanels' staff," he continues. "Their knowledge and assistance has been invaluable, so whenever there is an unusual situation – they are the ones we call.
"I've been using Litepanels since I started shooting Weeds two seasons ago, and frankly, I wouldn't want to do any project without at least one of them!"
