Michos Chooses LED Ringlite for "The Women"
"The Women had a lot of day exteriors and interiors," says cinematographer Anastas Michos, ASC, of the upcoming Diane English written and directed feature adaptation of Claire Booth Luce's play. "I found the output and color temperature of Litepanels Ringlite fit in perfectly with the look of the film.
"And, as a beauty light, it was easy to set up for our close-ups, and enabled me to photograph all of our actresses at their best."
Michos discovered the LED Ringlite while testing for Perfect Stranger. "I really liked it, however, the film called for mostly dark night interiors. So, I kept it in mind for better use – that became The Women.
"I've been a big fan of Litepanels for a while," he adds. "Especially the Litepanels Mini. I used them often on Untraceable. I liked their dimming capability, their relatively focused output and especially the way that they disappeared into the background of the set.
